Position Overview

Orlando Health South Lake Hospital - SkyTop View Rehabilitation Center is committed to delivering exceptional patient-centered care through a compassionate and dedicated team of professionals. Our facility specializes in short-term rehabilitation with an emphasis on orthopedic recovery. Patients receive continuous care from licensed and registered nursing staff.

Position Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for providing and documenting personalized care for residents, which includes assessments, education, medication administration, IV therapy, treatments, and ensuring resident safety under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).


Shift: 11PM-7AM/POOL

Key Responsibilities
  • Exhibit proficiency in nursing skills and the operation of resident care equipment as per unit-specific requirements.
  • Effectively communicate pertinent information regarding residents' conditions to physicians and other healthcare team members.
  • Ensure a safe and nurturing environment for residents and their families.
  • Stay informed about updates in facility policies, procedures, and equipment.
  • Engage in nursing performance improvement activities as assigned.
  • Understand legal considerations, resident rights, and adhere to the standards set by regulatory and accrediting bodies.
  • Possess the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care for residents on the assigned unit.
  • Assess and interpret data reflective of residents' statuses to determine their specific care needs.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to healthcare team members based on patient needs and team members' qualifications.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team regarding care plan revisions and family meetings.
  • Conduct chart audits as requested by nursing leadership.
  • Participate in leadership development courses as assigned.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance in accordance with Orlando Health policies and applicable regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Qualifications
Education/Training
Completion of an accredited LPN program or equivalent nursing qualification.

Licensure/Certification
  • Possess a current Florida LPN license, renewed biennially.
  • Hold a valid BLS certification.
