JOB SUMMARY:


Deliver direct nursing care to residents while overseeing daily nursing operations conducted by nursing assistants in compliance with state and federal regulations.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Adhere to all relevant rules, policies, standards, and guidelines related to employment with Westminster Services and its communities.

Assist in formulating resident care by adhering to physician directives.
Execute resident care in accordance with physician instructions.
Assess care and liaise with doctors for updates on orders.

Administer medications, IVs, injections, maintain patient records, provide emotional support, patient education, basic diagnostics, and other procedures for residents.

Receive and transcribe orders from attending physicians.
Monitor blood glucose, temperature, and blood pressure as needed.
Respond to all emergencies.
Coordinate doctor's appointments and arrange transportation for residents, including scheduling labs and transcribing lab results.
Supervise CNA's and LPN's as Charge Nurse – ensure they are delivering resident care based on

Education:
Must possess a current license in the State of Florida as a Registered Nurse.

Must hold CPR Certification.

Experience and Basic Knowledge:
One year of long-term care experience is desirable. Med-Surg, Home Health experience is beneficial, especially working with the elderly, handicapped, or developmentally disabled adults. On-the-job training will be provided in lieu of prior experience.
