JOB SUMMARY:


Deliver direct nursing care to residents while overseeing daily nursing operations performed by nursing assistants in compliance with state and federal regulations.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Adhere to all relevant rules, policies, standards, and guidelines associated with employment at Westminster Services and its communities.

Assist in the formulation of resident care by executing physician directives.
Implement resident care in accordance with physician instructions.
Assess care and liaise with physicians for updates on orders.

Administer medications, IVs, injections, maintain patient records, provide emotional support, patient education, basic diagnostics, and other necessary procedures for residents.

Receive and transcribe orders from attending physicians.
Monitor vital signs such as blood glucose, temperature, and blood pressure as required.
Respond to all emergencies promptly.
Coordinate doctor's appointments and arrange transportation for residents, including scheduling labs and transcribing lab results.
Supervise CNA's and LPN's as Charge Nurse – ensuring they deliver resident care based on established protocols.

Education:
Must hold a current license in the State of Florida as a Registered Nurse.

Must possess CPR Certification.

Experience and Basic Knowledge:
One year of experience in long-term care is preferred. Experience in Med-Surg or Home Health is beneficial, particularly with elderly, handicapped, or developmentally disabled adults. On-the-job training will be provided in lieu of prior experience.
