Job Overview

InnoTECH Staffing is seeking a dedicated and experienced Project Construction Leader with expertise in renewable natural gas, wastewater management, water treatment, biogas, and anaerobic digestion projects.


Role Summary

The Project Construction Leader will be responsible for providing strategic oversight and direction throughout the development, engineering, procurement, and construction stages of anaerobic digestion projects. This role involves managing project costs and timelines while implementing enhancements to construction practices and operational efficiency. The leader will collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior management to identify opportunities for value engineering that align with return on investment metrics, develop superior project management methodologies, and support operational teams with facility-related challenges.


Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the management of anaerobic digestion and energy generation projects from inception through to operational transition, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, budget, and scheduling objectives.
  • Lead a diverse team of internal and external professionals providing technical guidance throughout design, construction, commissioning, and operational handover.
  • Establish and direct an external project team including key equipment suppliers, contractors, and engineers to successfully execute multiple construction initiatives, managing vendor relations and contract negotiations.
  • Administer all purchasing processes, including preparation of bid documents, management of bidding activities, issuance of purchase orders, and cost tracking during contract execution.
  • Develop, negotiate, and oversee design-build, engineering, and construction contracts, ensuring clear scope definition, schedule management, and risk mitigation.
  • Facilitate project closeout, including operational turnover, completion of outstanding work, and accurate documentation of as-built conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with technical and quality standards for all facilities.
  • Maintain a rigorous focus on project budgets, coordinating with finance for invoice processing and budget oversight.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management regarding project status, budget forecasts, and potential issues impacting key milestones.
  • Foster a culture of safety awareness throughout all project phases.
  • Assist with technical evaluations related to operational challenges as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and recommend improvements as necessary.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing project delivery in terms of efficiency, cost-effectiveness, quality, and safety.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Over 10 years of project management experience in the development, engineering, and construction of commercial, energy, or industrial facilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork and collaboration across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to assess project risks and proactively implement solutions.
  • Excellent prioritization skills, capable of thriving in a dynamic environment with tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in project scheduling tools such as Primavera or MS Project, with the ability to manage critical path tasks and track progress against baseline schedules.
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office, cost management software, and cloud-based ERP systems.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Collaborative team player with a positive attitude.
  • Curious mindset with the capacity to take calculated risks and adapt strategies as needed.
  • Flexibility to adjust to evolving business requirements.
  • Preference for candidates with experience in industrial-scale wastewater treatment, anaerobic digestion, and renewable natural gas facilities; knowledge of electricity and RNG markets; and advanced degrees in engineering or business.

Travel Requirements

This position may require travel up to 50%.

  • Competitive salary range of $130,000 - $140,000 based on relevant experience.
