Position: Construction Manager - Energy Services
Summary:
The Construction Manager will engage directly with various members of the Construction Department, relevant company personnel, subcontractors, and client representatives on all project-related matters.
Frequent travel between job sites is essential, with the possibility of overnight stays and weekend work depending on project requirements. Occasional travel related to specific projects is expected.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive site assessments and surveys, including detailed documentation, photographs, and necessary field evaluations;
- Facilitate feasibility assessments with project stakeholders;
- Act as the job site representative for SAI clients;
- Assist in the identification, qualification, and selection of subcontractors necessary for the project, covering all site and building trades;
- Oversee and manage contractors to ensure adherence to schedules, safety protocols, and quality standards;
- Collaborate closely with contractors, architects, civil engineers, and associated consultants to develop site-specific value engineering options (review designs and modifications with stakeholders as needed);
- Maintain and strengthen relationships, representing SAI clients in matters related to Federal, State, and Municipal regulations, including permitting and construction inspection requirements to ensure efficient project delivery;
- Coordinate design and construction teams to ensure accuracy in construction documents and compliance with design specifications;
- Serve as a resource by participating in construction meetings, resolving disputes among parties, providing ongoing feedback, and managing project punch lists and close-outs;
- Perform additional related duties as assigned, including attending necessary meetings;
- Manage multiple site projects simultaneously, requiring strong interpersonal relations, constant communication with employees, vendors, customers, and local agencies, while adapting to changing priorities and demands;
- Attend meetings and provide detailed updates on the development and progress of each site.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant field experience or an Electrician's certification and/or a Bachelor's degree in construction, construction management, or technology is required.
- A valid driver's license to operate vehicles in the states where work is performed, along with an excellent driving record, is mandatory.
- Must be highly self-motivated, possess strong decision-making skills, and have the interpersonal abilities necessary to ensure projects are completed accurately and timely according to client specifications.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings is essential.
- Hands-on experience directing contractors and crews in mechanical, electrical, civil, and structural construction within an industrial environment is required.
- Capability to manage a heavy workload and multiple site projects effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong customer service and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficient in MS Office, including Word and Excel.
Work Environment:
- 25% of the work will be conducted in a climate-controlled office environment under standard office conditions.
- 75% of the role will involve travel throughout the project territory to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
