Department Overview

The Information Systems Technology Services department is a cohesive unit composed of various teams that work collaboratively to provide high-quality technological solutions.

Position Summary

This role involves leading a team of union-represented communications technicians in the secure installation of IT communications infrastructure across diverse locations, including network rooms, substations, offices, remote areas, and communication towers. The supervisor is responsible for ensuring safe and efficient network infrastructure projects while managing associated costs. Responsibilities include conducting safety reviews, quality assessments, and guiding work prioritization to meet operational deadlines. The supervisor must handle multiple priorities and provide support during after-hours or emergency situations. The role also emphasizes team development through training and accountability, understanding of bargaining unit contracts, and administering disciplinary actions when necessary. Travel to various service areas may be required.

Compensation Information

PG&E is sharing the salary range that reflects what the company believes it might pay for this position at the time of posting. This range is specific to the job's locality. Actual salary will depend on various factors, including skills, education, certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. It is anticipated that the individual hired may not land in the upper half of the range described below, as decisions will be based on the specifics of each case.

Salary Range:

Bay Area Minimum: $128,000.00

Bay Area Maximum: $218,000.00

Job Responsibilities

  • Promote and ensure safe construction practices during IT infrastructure installations.
  • Assist teams in overcoming obstacles that may delay project timelines.
  • Utilize the Planisware project management tool to oversee workload and commitments.
  • Adapt to dynamic environments, providing after-hours and emergency support as needed.
  • Travel to remote locations for field safety and quality assessments.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects and resources effectively.
  • Ensure proper resource allocation for each project to meet operational deadlines.
  • Adhere to IT construction standards and utility regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews for crew members and quarterly reviews for apprentices.
  • Foster collaboration and build relationships with leaders, project managers, and engineering teams.
  • Oversee crew operations for the safe and efficient installation of IT infrastructure in diverse settings.
  • Monitor program outcomes against technical specifications.
  • Provide constructive feedback and leadership to crew members.
  • Administer the intent and spirit of the IBEW 1245 contract as applicable.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Three years of experience in project management within IT.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Five or more years of experience in communications infrastructure construction methods.
  • Three or more years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Three or more years managing bargaining unit coworkers.
