Key Responsibilities
  • Manage airport authority communication systems, including public address, multi-line telephone, two-way radio, and emergency telephones. Monitor electronic access and alarm systems to identify security breaches and malfunctions.
  • Document and maintain records of activities and incidents effectively.
  • Oversee Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) and Field Condition Reports.
  • Conduct video surveillance through closed circuit television (CCTV) and report security and safety issues.
  • Maintain awareness of incidents or events that may affect airport operations, such as traffic, weather, and emergencies.
  • Facilitate communication between the FAA Tower, Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs), and emergency services during critical situations. Prioritize responses to airport and aircraft emergencies.
  • Ensure the integrity of airport security access points through regular verification and documentation of alarms, ID badge management, and compliance with the Airport Security Plan.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures while participating in Quality Assurance and Improvement programs.
  • Evaluate existing policies and procedures, recommending enhancements to management.
  • Conduct emergency and safety training, including drills and exercises.
  • Act as a liaison with internal departments and external agencies to ensure effective communication and service delivery.
  • Assist customers with services such as paging, flight information, and lost and found management.
  • Represent the department in various projects and assist in budget development and administration.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of three years of experience in an emergency communications center, preferably in law enforcement, fire, or emergency medical services.
  • Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, energetic and motivated personality, professional demeanor, and a strong customer service aptitude.
  • Organizational skills: Detail-oriented with the ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technical skills: Proficient in computer systems, including Microsoft Office, with the ability to troubleshoot minor issues.
  • Certifications: Valid driver's license, ability to pass background checks, and obtain necessary training certifications within three months of employment.
  • Continuing Education: Commitment to ongoing education and certification maintenance.
  • Probationary Period: Successful completion of a six-month evaluation period.
Physical Requirements
  • Work is primarily indoors in an office setting, requiring the ability to sit, stand, walk, and occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Visual acuity for reading and computer use, along with sufficient auditory ability for effective communication.
