ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

WHAT ARE THE CRITERIA?
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Flexibility to relocate after completing the Culinary Management Trainee program for promotion to Chef Manager.
  • Proficient in both verbal and written English
  • At least 2 years of culinary experience, preferably in a-la-carte or banquet settings
  • A minimum of 1 year in a supervisory or leadership capacity
  • Genuine interest in serving the senior community
  • Willingness to work varied schedules in a 24-hour operation, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to train at various community locations with travel flexibility during the training phase.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office and Point of Sale Systems (POS)

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Culinary Management Trainee program is an extensive, multi-month training initiative led by an experienced Belmont Village Chef Manager. The Trainee will assume increasing responsibilities related to managing the Food and Dining Services program, which includes leadership of the Culinary Dining Services team, meal coordination and preparation in a high-volume kitchen, and ensuring compliance with the highest standards of satisfaction within the Culinary Department.

WHAT WILL I BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?
  • Collaborating with and learning from seasoned Chefs and Regional Corporate leadership to manage a high-volume dining services program within a large senior living community.
  • Showcasing your culinary skills through meal preparation and production using established recipes.
  • Maintaining the highest standards in the preparation, presentation, and delivery of a hospitality-focused dining services program.
  • Acquiring effective management and leadership skills, including interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, motivating, and scheduling a large team.
  • Learning to efficiently operate a high-volume kitchen and restaurant by adhering to company guidelines and regulatory standards within a defined budget.
