Position Overview

As a Senior Accountant reporting to the Director of Finance or CFO, you will oversee accounting functions in accordance with established standards. Your responsibilities will include managing general ledger operations, ensuring compliance with internal controls, conducting financial analysis, and preparing financial statements, among other tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Document monthly accounting processes, record results in the general ledger, analyze margins for products and services by sales order, and clarify any discrepancies.
  • Prepare monthly accruals and general ledger entries for balance sheets and profit & loss accounts, including sales accruals and commissions.
  • Engage in treasury operations such as vendor payments and fund transfers between accounts.
  • Assist in generating accurate monthly financial reports for leadership, investors, and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with auditors during annual audits.
  • Contribute to the formulation and upkeep of accounting policies.
  • Provide insights through variance analysis and value creation reports.
  • Drive process improvements while maintaining robust controls and leveraging automation strategies when applicable.
  • Support senior management in assessing potential acquisitions and leading financial integration following acquisitions.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with a strong grasp of financial functions.
  • A bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
  • CPA certification is advantageous.
  • An MBA qualification is a plus.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and analytics is essential.
  • Experience with Oracle, NetSuite, and similar software is desirable.
  • A background in private equity, mergers and acquisitions, and integration is beneficial.
