The Clinical Social Worker (MSW) position at Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems is a dynamic role that requires a skilled professional to provide direct patient care and coordinate team-delivered services.

The ideal candidate will possess a Master of Social Work Degree from a Council on Social Work Education accredited program and have a minimum of one year of clinical social work experience, preferably in an acute care setting.

Key responsibilities include completing psychosocial assessments, developing treatment plans, providing psychosocial interventions, educating patients and staff, and facilitating compliance with treatment.

The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple priorities, and adapt to frequent change.

Requirements:

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Virginia preferred
  • Master of Social Work Degree from a Council on Social Work Education accredited program
  • Minimum of one year of clinical social work experience, preferably in an acute care setting

Additional responsibilities:

  • Supervise social work students on a voluntary basis
  • Participate in service area meetings, training, and patient care conferences
  • Contribute to quality improvement activities through self-analysis of services and needs

  • Strong recall, reasoning, and problem-solving skills
