Job Overview

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is in search of a skilled Senior Program Manager to oversee significant programs within the Veterans Affairs (VA) sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a comprehensive program that includes various projects with a substantial lifecycle budget.
  • Plan, initiate, manage, execute, and finalize both small and large-scale programs aligned with the agency's objectives.
  • Supervise service delivery teams to ensure compliance with all contractual obligations as outlined in the Performance Work Statement (PWS).
  • Guarantee that all required deliverables are prepared and undergo quality assurance reviews prior to submission.
  • Create a master integrated plan that consolidates all individual project plans for execution by the service delivery teams.
  • Ensure effective communication and agreement on plans with the customer, ensuring that delivery teams are adequately staffed and resourced.
  • Collaborate with the corporate Program Management Office (PMO) to ensure adherence to standard processes and reporting requirements.
  • Manage all direct labor costs related to the contract, ensuring that expenses remain within budget.
  • Confirm that resources assigned to the contract possess the necessary technical skills for their roles.
  • Ensure all program-related deliverables, such as reports and standard operating procedures, are prepared ahead of the specified due dates for quality review.
  • Engage directly with the customer to ensure satisfaction with service quality, addressing any issues that arise.

Required Qualifications:

  • Exceptional leadership, management, and communication abilities.
  • A proactive leadership style with a focus on taking charge.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders with competing priorities.
  • Prior experience in federal government Program Management.

Professional Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

Experience: Minimum of eight (8) years in a professional capacity

Preferred Experience: Previous involvement with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)

Education: Master’s Degree

Citizenship Requirement: U.S. Citizenship is mandatory for this opportunity

Security Clearance: Must possess or qualify for a Public Trust (NACI)
