Job Summary

The External SEC Financial Reporting Professional participates in the preparation of periodic financial statements in accordance with GAAP and SEC rules and regulations.

This role involves moderately complex to complex issues involving understanding and applying accounting policy to transactions in a matrixed environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensures all reports and disclosures comply with applicable government regulations, professional standards, and organization policies.
  • Prepares select journal entries involving sensitive or complex consolidated and subsidiary financial accounts in a timely and accurate manner for inclusion in internal and external financial statements.
  • Maintains and adapts SOX control environment processes and documentation.
  • Performs research, analysis, and implementation of new accounting standards and interpretations.
  • Influences departments strategy in setting organizational accounting policy and standards.
  • Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex technical accounting issues as a subject matter resource for GAAP and SEC reporting.
  • Leads and manages special projects that may necessitate cross-functional partnerships.
  • Drives innovation and automation in the financial reporting process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • 4-7 years of technical experience in GAAP and SEC Reporting.
  • Big Four public accounting experience.
  • Oracle FCCS experience.
