Regional Manager of Underwriting Operations

Position Overview:
As the Vice President of Underwriting Center Regional Management, you will be responsible for steering the profitability and expansion of the Commercial Insurance portfolio within the Pacific North Region, managing approximately $60 million in renewal Property and Casualty premiums.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the renewal business production and ensure effective portfolio management.
- Oversee national responsibilities for the Energy sector, including profit and loss management and execution of renewal strategies for a $10 million portfolio.
- Collaborate with Industry Practice Leaders to drive growth initiatives and serve as the subject matter expert for the Underwriting Center.
- Manage profit and loss for the Inland/Ocean and Property portfolios, including national oversight of significant programs such as agriculture and online builders risk platforms, totaling around $65 million in premium.
- Spearhead the execution of digital transformation initiatives for Commercial Insurance.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess extensive technical underwriting expertise, demonstrating a proven ability to strategically manage commercial property and casualty challenges. This role includes leadership responsibilities for team performance and development, achieving underwriting profitability, adhering to strategic goals, generating new revenue, and ensuring high customer service standards.

- Proven track record in executing Commercial product strategies through a comprehensive understanding of the underwriting process.
- Commitment to maintaining underwriting integrity through effective education and self-audit practices.
- Experience in developing and enhancing key underwriting processes to boost productivity and efficiency.
- Strong management skills to optimize talent allocation within the territory.
Demonstrated Competencies:
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to cultivate strong internal and external relationships.
- Proficiency in training and coaching.
- In-depth knowledge of casualty and property product lines, along with a thorough understanding of the local insurance landscape.
- Strong negotiation skills to maintain effective communication within the marketplace.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of commercial underwriting experience, including prior staff management experience.
