The Sales Planning Analyst is essential to the Wholesale Sales Analytics team, providing continuous analytical assistance. This role collaborates with sales, product, and manufacturing teams, focusing on sales demand forecasting and analysis for a portion of the wholesale channel. The aim is to deliver data-driven insights that monitor ongoing initiatives and uncover trends to enhance both internal and external strategies. Key attributes include a solid foundation in sales demand forecasting and data trend analysis to assess business opportunities and generate reliable forecasts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with multi-state sales teams and manufacturing to create sales demand plans at both account and product levels.
  • Support the monthly account/product line build process and the formulation of sales plans.
  • Examine third-party market and retailer sales data, reporting findings to management.
  • Devise strategies for growth and profitability through the analysis of retail performance.
  • Regularly research market intelligence to ensure demand forecasts remain accurate and current.
  • Track sales performance trends to identify challenges and opportunities.
  • Deliver standardized Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) reports and develop forecast accuracy metrics.
  • Oversee multi-state sales initiatives for crafting sales plans.
  • Continuously enhance and refine forecasting techniques and methodologies.
  • Evaluate sales team performance and provide analytical recommendations.
  • Manage reporting for assigned territory representative goals and reforecasting of account landings.
  • Analyze distributor sales, inventory turnover, forecasting, and production pipelines.
  • Assist leadership with ad hoc reporting requests as needed.
  • Perform tasks under direct supervision, addressing basic issues while escalating more complex matters to senior staff.
  • Demonstrate diligence, punctuality, and readiness to work.
  • Undertake additional duties as required to support business objectives as assigned by supervisors.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Business, Supply Chain Management, or four years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum of three years of prior analytical experience in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) and planning within mid to large-sized company sales operations environments (preferably in cannabis, beverage, apparel, or food industries).
  • Experience with CRM and ERP platforms for reporting and planning.
  • Familiarity with forecasting software and models.
  • Experience working with sales demand planning teams and/or procurement partners.

Requirements

  • Must be over 21 years of age.
  • Availability for on-site operations work Monday through Friday.
  • Work is centered around objectives, projects, and priorities rather than hours; must be willing to work weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Willingness and ability to undergo cross-training in various roles within the department as required.

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods of standing, sitting at a desk, and/or working on a computer.
  • Able to stand for up to four hours at a time.
  • Ability to work in varying temperature environments.
  • Capable of standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, and twisting for extended periods.
  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift up to 50 lbs. to a minimum height of five feet and carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department within the organization’s facilities.
