Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the planning and implementation of R&D projects, conducting reactions, fabrication, and metrology tasks, and facilitating the definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Research and Development: Conduct research and development activities to advance the company's products and services.
  • Project Management: Lead the planning and implementation of R&D projects, including defining project scope, goals, and deliverables, and managing project budget, resource allocation, and project timelines.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with project or subject matter leads, program and department managers, and the larger science and technology community to achieve project objectives.
  • Problem-Solving and Analysis: Conduct data analysis to determine direction towards project objectives and implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs.
  • Team Leadership: Provide direction and support to project team members and create and present reports defining project progress, problems, and solutions.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Glass Engineering, Ceramic Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Chemistry.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in glass manufacturing or a related field.
  • Skills: Experience with MS Suite of software, ITAR regulations, and company compliance.
  • Language: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents and communicate effectively to team members and management.
Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work in a laboratory and manufacturing environment, with regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, heat, and open flames. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
