Position Overview

The Merchandising Space Coordinator plays a crucial role in the organization by overseeing the development and implementation of planograms for various clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee planogram requirements and enhance organizational efficiency through the utilization of the Blue Yonder/JDA CKB platform, including Space Planning, Data Manager, Open Access, Web Publisher, and Planogram Generator.
  • Design, implement, and revise presentation planograms that encompass all product categories, ensuring alignment with the overall merchandising strategy and Fixture Library for all planogram types, while collaborating closely with Sales teams to ensure accurate fixture construction for clients.
  • Serve as the go-to expert in merchandise space planning for colleagues.
  • Leverage BY/JDA reporting tools to evaluate product performance, including highlights and tables.
  • Take full responsibility for all facets of assigned merchandising initiatives, ensuring data integrity and consistency across multiple systems during the creation and maintenance of planograms.
  • Establish, document, and communicate best practices in visual merchandising, adhering to fundamental retail strategies while also challenging conventional standards when necessary.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including Product Management, Category Management, Sales, and Store Planning, to ensure planograms are optimized for profitability and are ready for retail presentation upon release.
  • Demonstrate effective time management skills by managing multiple projects and clients simultaneously, utilizing a variety of skills and techniques to meet deadlines and objectives.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills by working effectively with diverse personalities and perspectives, remaining receptive to new ideas.
  • Communicate clearly in both written and verbal formats, representing ReaderLink and its clients professionally in all interactions. Edit written materials for accuracy and clarity, and present numerical data effectively.
  • Maintain organized processes for record-keeping and reporting, ensuring high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • One to two years of experience with the Blue Yonder/JDA Space Planning module is required.
  • At least one year of experience with Data Manager is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the BY/JDA Planogram Generator is advantageous.
  • A solid understanding of retail design principles, consumer behavior, product placement, margin recognition, and merchandising techniques is essential.
  • Strong skills in prioritization, process optimization, project management, and problem-solving are necessary.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must.
  • Ability to engage with all levels of the organization and external partners effectively.
  • Familiarity with publishing industry terminology is beneficial.
  • Competence in writing routine reports and correspondence is required.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, are necessary.
  • The role is primarily office-based, with a moderate noise level.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in high-functioning teams is essential.

Compensation: $60,000 - $63,000.00
