Job Summary

Our client, a leading industrial company, is seeking a highly experienced Construction Supervisor to join their team in Springfield, MA. The successful candidate will have a strong background in construction management, with a focus on industrial settings, electrical systems, and piping/pipe supports.

This is a 2-year contract opportunity that requires the ability to supervise construction activities, review technical documents, monitor budgets and schedules, and promote safe work practices. A Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure Personnel Safety: Take proactive measures to ensure personnel safety, actively participate in weekly safety meetings, and adhere to all relevant standards, rules, and regulations. Directly communicate any safety concerns to contractors.
  • Construction Documentation: Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, identify any discrepancies or conflicts in the documents or on-site, and document observations as construction progresses.
  • Project Coordination: Maintain communication with the project team regarding all aspects of construction activities.
  • Facilitate Coordination: Facilitate coordination between the plant operator and contractor to ensure smooth work activities.
  • Quality and Productivity: Ensure work adheres to company standards and methods, monitor design compliance, and promote productivity.
  • Project Monitoring: Oversee current and upcoming activities to optimize productivity, control costs, and meet or exceed quality standards.
  • Material Verification: Conduct measurements to verify material quantities and dimensions against construction drawings.
  • Contractor Evaluation: Monitor contractor activities to assess construction techniques related to quality, safety, schedule adherence, and cost efficiency.
  • Site Activity Tracking: Track and report on site activities, including cost overruns, design deviations, change orders, schedule issues, and stakeholder concerns.
  • Waste Reduction: Evaluate site activities to reduce waste, recommend corrective actions, and ensure the project stays on schedule and within budget.
  • Contract Compliance: Ensure construction and assembly activities meet contract requirements.
  • Material Forecasting: Record quantities of materials and services used on-site and forecast remaining needs to complete the project.
  • Non-Conforming Work: Identify and address non-conforming work during construction with the contractor.
  • Punch-List Management: Assist management in defining punch-lists and identifying remaining tasks to complete.
  • Lessons Learned: Provide insights based on lessons learned to help improve future projects.
  • Meetings and Communication: Attend meetings as requested by the management team.
