Position Overview:

Role Summary:
We are currently seeking an Organ Placement Coordinator to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in managing the logistics and coordination of organ placement for transplantation and research purposes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and coordinate organ import offers for the Clinical Transplant Center (CTC).
  • Oversee the placement of organs for transplant and research, ensuring effective communication with transplant center staff.
  • Maintain frequent communication with transplant surgeons and coordinators to facilitate organ allocation.
  • Collaborate with on-call transplant RN coordinators and clinical personnel during donor management.
  • Provide critical medical information regarding import donor organ function.
  • Arrange transportation for surgical teams and other essential personnel involved in organ recovery.
  • Adhere to the policies set forth by the Organ Procurement and Transplant Network (OPTN) and the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS).
  • Facilitate communication and logistical coordination for potential and accepted import organ donor cases.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, emergency medical services, healthcare studies, or biology.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in the medical field or health sciences, with equivalent work experience considered.
