Construction Site Supervisor for Environmental Projects

Position Overview: The Site Superintendent will oversee the planning and execution of construction activities, ensuring effective management of daily operations for environmental remediation and earthwork projects throughout the Midwest. This role encompasses comprehensive responsibility for all facets of earthwork initiatives, including direct supervision of the workforce, management of construction machinery, and coordination with subcontractors on-site. The Superintendent will also implement safety protocols, maintain quality standards, and manage procurement processes for the project site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the construction team and oversee the execution of soil and earthwork tasks on-site, while monitoring daily progress in alignment with project schedules, drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Collaborate closely with site safety personnel to uphold O6 Environmental's commitment to safety; ensure compliance with safety plans and company policies, and assist project management in conducting daily safety briefings.
  • Assess the skills of craft personnel to guarantee the safe operation of heavy machinery, addressing any safety issues that arise.
  • Evaluate crew performance on-site, providing training, coaching, and disciplinary measures as necessary.
  • Compile daily reports to accurately document progress and production levels.
  • Manage and track daily time sheets to correspond with completed work activities.
  • Ensure an adequate supply of materials and heavy equipment on-site to meet production deadlines while adhering to budget constraints.
  • Verify that all work performed on-site complies with quality standards and aligns with contractual obligations to clients.
  • Oversee production targets related to project estimates, providing feedback to the Project Management team regarding safety, productivity, work quality, and financial health of the project.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction, specifically in remediation and earthwork.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety protocols related to the operation of earth-moving construction equipment is essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for efficient report generation with high accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a construction environment with exposure to dust, noise, and varying weather conditions.
  • Willingness to travel to various job sites across the Midwest as required to manage daily operations.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening, criminal background checks, and physical examinations is mandatory.
