Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Patient Care Technician to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our nursing staff in delivering exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with direct and indirect patient care activities, including vital sign collection and reporting, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Perform technical duties and selected treatments, procedures, and activities that contribute to safe and efficient delivery of patient care.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to address patient and family needs, taking into account cultural and individual diversity.
  • Effectively communicate and interact with patients, families, and staff, providing excellent customer service skills.
  • Participate in receiving patient bedside report and contribute to the care team approach.
  • Relocate and rotate to meet patient care needs, demonstrating accountability and responsibility in daily performance.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED, and CNA or other educational equivalent, such as Medical Assistant, CPCT, EMT, or student nurse from an accredited program.
  • CT CNA certification, EMT, or student nurse from an accredited program, and Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) training.
  • Successful completion of orientation and evidence of positive initiatives with patients and staff.
Work Environment

This role requires working in a fast-paced healthcare environment, with moderate noise levels and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team-oriented setting, prioritizing patient care and safety.
