Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Float Patient Care Technician to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.

Responsibilities
  • Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, you will engage in selected tasks and activities to obtain and report information to assist in the assessment, planning, and evaluation of patient needs.
  • You will perform technical duties and selected treatments, procedures, and activities that contribute to safe and efficient delivery of patient care.
  • You will effectively assist in the care of patients with consideration for the safety of key populations as appropriate.
  • You will collaborate with members of the multidisciplinary team to address patient/family needs, taking into account cultural and/or individual diversity and demonstrating sensitivity to these aspects of care delivery.
  • You will effectively and professionally communicate and interact with patients, families, and staff.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • CT CNA certification, EMT, or student nurse from an accredited program
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) training
