Job Summary

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for STRL Mission Support Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position

Serves as an Operations Specialist at the DEVCOM Analysis Center in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, advising on emergency management and preparedness to the G3 and Director.

Responsibilities
  • Advises the G3 and/or Director on emergency management/emergency preparedness.
  • Plans and/or executes exercises to provide emergency management training to the workforce.
  • Communicates with DEVCOM leadership team regarding audits and/or inspections conducted using the DEVCOM Organization Inspection Tool.
  • Supports the center's protection plan by developing and/or implementing a key control/electronic access control program.
  • Processes serious incident reports and/or commander's critical information requirements in accordance with center policy.

Basic Requirements

For OPERATIONS SPECIALIST DE-0301-3:

  • Specialized Experience: To qualify, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.
  • Specialized experience is defined as:
    • (1) Provide guidance to operations staff on matters concerning emergency management and/or emergency preparedness;
    • (2) Assist in coordinating and/or conducting emergency management trainings;
    • (3) Document the findings of incident reports in accordance with the organization's policy.
  • This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service DE GS-11 Equivalent).
Additional Information

This position is covered by a Laboratory Personnel Demonstration Project.

This position is in BUSINESS AND TECHNICAL CAREER PATH, Pay Band III Category II.

3-year probationary period may be required.

Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
