Technology Underwriting Specialist

The Commercial Insurance Division is on the lookout for a skilled Underwriter to join our team. This role primarily involves assessing and underwriting various coverages including Package, Property, General Liability, Errors & Omissions, Auto, Workers' Compensation, and Umbrella/Excess for our Information Technology clientele.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance the financial performance of a commercial portfolio tailored to this customer segment.
- Underwrite and negotiate renewals, managing a total premium of $4.5 million in commercial business across diverse customer sizes, with a new business target of $2 million.
- Achieve or surpass financial objectives related to rates, growth, profitability, retention, and new business acquisition.
- Take charge of account solicitation, risk assessment, pricing, and sales of essential commercial products and services for both new and existing clients.
- Engage in cross-selling initiatives within the Commercial Insurance sector to broaden product offerings for current clients.
- Conduct meetings with new and renewing clients and agents/brokers to negotiate coverage, pricing, financial terms, and service delivery.
- Foster relationships with agents/brokers to meet or exceed financial targets and develop effective business strategies for assigned agents/brokers and territories.
- Collaborate efficiently with a team of underwriters, underwriting associates, customer service representatives, claims examiners, and loss control specialists.
- Leverage agency travel and Salesforce to cultivate a strong prospect pipeline.
- Proficient sales, marketing, and negotiation capabilities.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in commercial lines underwriting.
- Demonstrated success in establishing robust business relationships with agents and clients.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability in complex account analysis, prioritization, organization, and attention to detail.
- Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment, utilizing various internal and external resources effectively.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software.
- A keen interest in enhancing knowledge and skills in the commercial lines sector.
