We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technology Underwriter to join our team at Your Hiring Coaches. As a key member of our Underwriting Team, you will be responsible for handling complex new and renewal Middle Markets business and serving as a Subject Matter Expert for the Technology practice.
Key Responsibilities- Serving as a Customer Advocate: You will work closely with customers to understand their risk and provide tailored solutions to meet their insurance needs.
- Exposure Evaluation and Risk Assessment: You will use a disciplined approach to evaluate exposure and assess risk, ensuring that our customers receive the best possible coverage.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: You will utilize risk insights, data, and models to drive informed decisions at the point of sale.
- Product Alignment and Value Proposition: You will identify gaps in our products and value proposition, and work to align them with customer needs.
- Strong Analytical and Advisory Skills: You will demonstrate strong analytical skills and execute as an innovative advisor, providing expert guidance to our customers.
- Underwriting and Business Development: You will be responsible for underwriting, analyzing, and generating new and renewal business, as well as market-facing and production within the growing Middle Markets division.
- Regulatory Compliance and Relationship Building: You will administer and monitor underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations, and rating manual rules, while developing and maintaining agency and broker relationships.
- Complex Assignments and Authorities: You will work within broad limits and authorities on highly complex assignments, requiring strong negotiation and communication skills.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent: You must have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area.
- Existing Broker Relationships: You should have existing broker relationships in the SoCal region.
- Cyber and E&O Experience: Cyber and E&O experience is preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree: A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Knowledge of Middle Markets Property and Casualty Underwriting: You should have knowledge of Middle Markets Property and Casualty Underwriting.
- Strong Negotiation and Communication Skills: You must have strong negotiation and communication skills, as well as strong relationship building, active listening, needs analysis, and win-win negotiating skills.
- Knowledge of Underwriting Philosophy and Techniques: You should have knowledge of underwriting philosophy, techniques, national/local filing regulations, and guidelines.
