Job Summary

Tidewell Hospice is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Warehouse Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Materials Management department, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our warehouse, ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of inventory, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and support to warehouse staff, ensuring they have the necessary tools and resources to perform their duties effectively.
  • Contribute to the performance appraisal process for warehouse staff, providing constructive feedback and coaching to help them grow and develop in their roles.
  • Ensure the maintenance, cleaning, and repair of all equipment, following manufacturer specifications and testing to ensure proper function.
  • Oversee the cleaning of equipment within 24 hours of receipt, ensuring it is in good working condition.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate electronic recordkeeping, developing and distributing reports associated with inventory and material flow processes.
  • Ensure cycle counts are conducted monthly on inventory, documents, and reports, identifying and addressing any discrepancies.
  • Oversee the bagging and tagging of equipment, ensuring it is properly labeled and stored.
  • Maintain inventory levels, ensuring all par levels are active and equipment is always available, producing reports on demand.
  • Train and educate warehouse staff on equipment and services, ensuring they have the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their duties effectively.
  • Collaborate with DME Leadership to ensure the highest level of service, maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
  • Participate in the development and achievement of measurable department goals, contributing to the success of Tidewell Hospice.
  • Collaborate with DME Leadership to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and policies, maintaining a high level of quality and service.
  • Recommend enhancements to solve and troubleshoot problems, reduce costs, and improve service to patients, identifying opportunities for process improvement.
  • Initiate quality control for validation and warehouse data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Responsible for timely investigation and response to customer inventory questions, discrepancies, and issues, providing excellent customer service.
  • Source vendors for new equipment, detailing recommendations to DME Leadership.
  • Conduct weekly audits of inventory for cleaning, providing outcome reports to Leadership.
  • Responsible for oxygen tank storage and incoming and outgoing tanks, ensuring proper handling and storage.
  • Train and educate all DME staff and volunteers on the MSDS Sheet website, ensuring they have the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their duties effectively.
  • Share knowledge with coworkers to reinforce focus on quality, regulatory issues, customer service, and adherence to SOPs.
  • Participate in the validation process for new deliveries, pickups, equipment exchanges, and repairs, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Adhere to driver safety guidelines, maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
  • Maintain the eyewash station, ensuring it is in good working condition and the inventory is up-to-date.
  • Assume responsibility for own continuing education, staying up-to-date on industry developments and best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university, or minimum of two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of Sarasota, Manatee, Desoto, and Charlotte County streets.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Computer skills required, including Excel reports and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Able to prioritize daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to provide excellent service to patients and customers.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
  • Able to work well under pressure, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task with little or no disruption of workflow.
  • Knowledge of inventory control procedures and processes in a distribution/warehousing environment.
  • The ability to compile and analyze data from various sources, identifying trends and opportunities for process improvement.
