Job Summary

An Ophthalmic Technician/Medical Assistant plays a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the ophthalmologist in delivering high-quality services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide outstanding customer service to patients, ensuring a positive experience during every interaction.
  • Assist the ophthalmologist in preparing patients for exams, using equipment to perform initial testing and gathering medical history.
  • Record patient data accurately and efficiently, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Perform various diagnostic tests, including dilation, refraction, and visual field assessments.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry knowledge and training, demonstrating a commitment to growth and development.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with one year of related experience and/or training.
  • COA or COT certification preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Reliable transportation and a strong work ethic.
Physical Demands

This role requires frequent standing, walking, and sitting, with occasional lifting and moving of up to 25 pounds.

Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
