Job Title: Ophthalmic Assistant

Retina Consultants of Carolina, a leading provider of retina care services, is seeking a highly skilled Ophthalmic Assistant to join our team in Greenville, SC.

Job Summary:

The Ophthalmic Assistant will work closely with our experienced physicians and other medical professionals to provide exceptional patient care and support in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preliminary testing and examinations to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of eye conditions.
  • Document patient medical history and chief complaints accurately and efficiently.
  • Oversee patient flow and prepare patients for procedures, ensuring a smooth and seamless experience.
  • Scribe for physicians during patient consultations and procedures.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 1 year of experience in the medical field, preferably in ophthalmology.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, physicians, and other medical staff.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in electronic medical records.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Visual acuity testing and pupillometry screening experience.
  • Tonometry testing and reading skills.
  • Ocular motility examinations and working knowledge of ocular photography techniques.
