La Cantera, a premier luxury resort in San Antonio, features 496 rooms, 34 boutique-style villas, and an exclusive adults-only floor, all set against the backdrop of 550 acres of Texas Hill Country. This resort harmonizes sophistication with relaxation, offering guests opportunities to explore its extensive amenities, including a 25,000 sq. ft. destination spa and a championship golf course.

Overview

*This is a Seasonal Position*

The Bartender is tasked with mixing and serving beverages to guests while ensuring compliance with legal age regulations for alcohol consumption. This role is vital in upholding the standards of La Cantera Resort and Spa.

The Bartender is expected to deliver exceptional service to both internal and external guests consistently. They will embody the culture of La Cantera Resort and Spa and promote it as a premier destination and employer of choice.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Commitment to customer service and guest satisfaction.
  • Mixes ingredients to create cocktails and other beverages according to established recipes.
  • Maintains cleanliness of storage areas and bar equipment.
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
  • Ensures cleanliness of bar and glassware.
  • Processes food and beverage orders using the POS system.
  • Completes opening, ongoing, and closing side work as directed.
  • Balances cash drawers at the end of shifts to ensure accuracy.
  • Ensures proper handling of credit cards and tabs.
  • Maintains inventory of liquor, beer, and wine.
  • Completes daily requisitions as needed.
  • Accurately reports tips and hours worked at the end of each shift.
  • Ensures fresh ingredients and supplies are stocked appropriately.
  • Verifies identification to confirm age requirements for alcohol service.
  • Provides menu recommendations and suggestions to guests.
  • Assists the restaurant team as required.
  • Stays informed about beverage trends.
  • Addresses guest concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Offers general resort information to guests.
  • Greets and bids farewell to all guests warmly and sincerely.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of resort amenities and special events.
  • Interacts professionally with resort staff, providing necessary information.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current Food Handler Certificate and TABC certification.
  • Prior experience in hospitality preferred.
  • At least one year of experience in a high-volume restaurant setting preferred.
  • At least one year of experience in food and beverage service preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience with POS systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of wine, beer, and mixed drinks preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
