About the Role

The New York State Office of Mental Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to serve as the Director of Hospital Administration and Support Services. This critical role will oversee the day-to-day supervision and oversight of administrative management services, including human resources, business office, physical plant and maintenance, environmental services, nutrition, and safety and security at our facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide management oversight and direction of Human Resources, Business Office, Physical Plant/Work Control, Environmental Services/Housekeeping, Safety & Security, and Nutrition/Food Services departments.
  • Establish and implement policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure the effective operation of all necessary administrative and support services.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of policies and ensure Joint Commission standards for Administrative Services and the Environment of Care are met.
  • Collaborate with OMH Central Office Administrative Support Services Group and facility staff to ensure capital projects are conducted safely, timely, and with minimal impact to operations.
  • Participate in and chair various facility committees.
About Our Facility

Sagamore Children's Psychiatric Center is an intermediate care facility that provides mental health treatment to children and adolescents with serious emotional and psychiatric disturbances. Our facility is located in Dix Hills, NY, and provides an integrated, family-based inpatient psychiatric treatment program with the goal of returning children to their families with minimal disruption.

Requirements

Minimum qualifications include 11 years of progressively responsible administrative, supervisory, or managerial experience in the healthcare field, including 2 years of specialized experience as the overall manager of one or more of the following areas: budget/finance, human resource management, physical plant/maintenance, diversity, information technology, or support services in a general hospital, community mental health center, healthcare facility, or a facility or agency whose primary function is providing treatment services to people diagnosed with mental illness, intellectual and developmental disabilities, or substance abuse services/addictions.

Substitutions include an Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree, Master's degree, or Doctoral degree, which may substitute for 2, 4, 5, or 6 years of the general experience, respectively.

Additionally, all candidates must be eligible to participate in Federal healthcare programs and not be listed as an excluded individual or entity on any of the Federal and/or State Medicaid and Medicare exclusion lists.
