Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources and Operations Manager to join our team at the California Immigrant Policy Center. This is a full-time, exempt position that will play a critical role in supporting the organization's mission and goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Human Resources: Develop and implement effective HR practices, including recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations. Manage employee personnel files, benefits administration, and performance evaluations.
  • Office Management: Oversee the upkeep of our Los Angeles and Sacramento offices, including building management, safety protocols, and facilities maintenance.
  • IT Management: Collaborate with our IT consultant to resolve computer and network issues, and lead annual tech assessments to ensure our systems are up-to-date and secure.
  • Event Management: Manage vendor relationships, logistics, and event planning for internal and external events, including Immigrant Day and staff retreats.
  • Finance: Oversee staff reimbursement, mileage expense submissions, and vendor invoices. Support the Deputy Director of Finance and Administration during the annual audit.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant HR and office management experience, including supervisory experience.
  • Familiarity with non-profit and social change work, particularly immigration issues, is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of labor legislation, payroll processes, and recruitment practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide thoughtful feedback to team members.
  • Proficiency in non-English languages spoken by Latinx, Asian, Pacific Islander, African, Caribbean, and Arab communities is a plus.
