Position Overview

The Security Systems Specialist plays a crucial role in managing and supporting the physical security systems and technological hardware across the organization. This position is vital for ensuring the operational integrity of all security systems, aiming to minimize disruptions to business activities. The role involves overseeing project lifecycles and ensuring the availability of necessary resources for successful implementation. This is a hybrid position, requiring a portion of time to be spent onsite.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the installation, upgrades, and maintenance of alarm systems, access controls, surveillance cameras, burglary detection systems, and fire alarm systems.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of advanced security equipment standards and emerging technologies.
  • Evaluate system standards, policies, necessary upgrades, and the daily management of all security systems through integrators.
  • Propose system solutions to address specific security issues identified through customer feedback and security assessments.
  • Oversee the organization’s Mass Notification System.
  • Manage project planning, tracking, quality assurance, and vendor communications, including invoicing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Over three years of experience in supporting physical security systems and project management.
  • Strong background in vendor management.
  • General troubleshooting knowledge of IP cameras, NVRs, and Access Control Systems.
  • Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking.
  • Excellent communication skills for training on critical systems.
  • Experience with physical security software solutions such as Genetec, Lenel, and Exacqvision.
