Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Operations Supervisor to join our team at Stearns County, Minnesota. As a key member of our Building Facilities Department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient maintenance and construction of our county facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical knowledge and support for projects and staff.
  • Manage preventative maintenance projects, repairs, and replacements of equipment to ensure a safe and secure environment for employees and the public.
  • Create project and work schedules to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Prioritize and assign work orders.
  • Assist with the maintenance and cleaning of grounds, buildings, and facilities.
  • Schedule and assist with snow removal.
  • Maintain inventory to ensure supplies are available as needed.
  • Collaborate with inspectors to approve work and correct deficiencies.
  • Install construction and maintenance items to assist with project completion.
  • Monitor and assist outside vendors doing work on county buildings.
  • Maintain and repair card reader and energy management systems.
  • Perform documentation for projects and records.
  • Collaborate with county departments to plan department projects.
  • Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, product data, and equipment schematics; inspect on-site construction conditions, and complete change orders.
  • Ensure safety policies and procedures are followed by employees and the public around construction sites.
  • Select, train, supervise, evaluate performance, and discipline employees.
  • Assist with preparation of the department budget.
  • Attend work in a regular and timely manner.
  • Ability to work a rotating on-call schedule.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or apparent.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Five years of progressively related experience in construction, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, or building maintenance, including four years of supervising employees in construction, plumbing, mechanics, electrical, or building maintenance.
  • Valid Minnesota Class 'D' Driver's License, or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Experience working with keycard security systems and software.
  • Experience with Building Automation software.
