POSITION OVERVIEW:

Earth Engineers (EE), a well-established geotechnical consulting firm with operations in Oregon, Washington, and Hawaii, is in search of an early-career professional with 3 to 5 years of experience to join our team as a geotechnical engineering or engineering geology staff member.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Staff/Project Geotechnical Engineer at RMA, you will assist lead geotechnical engineers in successfully executing geotechnical projects, ensuring client satisfaction while minimizing risks. The specific position, salary, and responsibilities will be determined based on the candidate's experience level.

Under the guidance of a lead geotechnical engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting geotechnical investigations.
  • Performing geological hazard assessments.
  • Overseeing construction observation and testing.
  • Executing geotechnical laboratory testing.
  • Working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Planning, scheduling, and conducting field investigations and laboratory tests.
  • Managing data collection, data management, and record-keeping, including the calibration of laboratory and field equipment.
  • Preparing comprehensive reports and conducting engineering analyses, utilizing your analytical skills and technical knowledge of soil mechanics principles.
  • Occasional overnight travel within the Pacific Northwest and Hawaii.
  • Occasional lifting of approximately 50 pounds.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

The following minimum qualifications are required for this position:

  • 3 to 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, or Engineering Geology (Master's Degree preferred).
  • Experience in fieldwork, including subsurface explorations (drilling and test pits), construction inspection, or geotechnical materials testing.
  • Strong attention to detail in data collection, management, and record-keeping.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teams and interface with clients, design teams, and contractors.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
