Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Geotechnical Engineer to contribute to our Springfield, MO operations. This role involves overseeing geotechnical projects from start to finish, ensuring compliance with timelines, budgets, and quality benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead geotechnical engineering projects, ensuring they meet established deadlines and financial plans.
  • Draft proposals, contracts, and essential project documentation in collaboration with the project team.
  • Evaluate geotechnical boring logs and related data to analyze subsurface conditions and provide foundation design recommendations.
  • Utilize industry-standard software for geotechnical calculations, determining soil and rock properties, bearing capacities, and settlement analyses.
  • Compile comprehensive technical reports detailing geotechnical findings and recommendations for clients and regulatory bodies.
  • Supervise drilling operations and laboratory testing to guarantee precise data collection and analysis.
  • Conduct field inspections and investigations to assess site conditions and collect soil and rock samples.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with the Drilling Manager to coordinate field activities and provide necessary technical support.
  • Work alongside the Construction Testing Manager to ensure compliance with geotechnical specifications during construction phases.
  • Engage in activities that apply geotechnical engineering principles, offering expertise to the project team.
  • Adapt to various work environments, including both office and field settings, while managing outdoor project demands.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Active Engineer-in-Training (EI) certification.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with proficiency in analysis, calculations, and report writing.
  • Familiarity with geotechnical drilling methods, including soil sampling and planning explorations.
  • Strong client relations skills and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team while demonstrating independent problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly.
  • Focus on client service and business development, fostering strong relationships for future opportunities.
  • Valid motor vehicle license, with the ability to travel to project sites as necessary.
  • Willingness to undergo a drug screening and physical examination as per company policies.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and assist with physical tasks as needed.
