Position Overview
We are seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to contribute to our Springfield, MO operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing geotechnical engineering projects from initiation to completion, ensuring compliance with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead geotechnical engineering projects, ensuring all aspects are managed effectively.
- Collaborate with the project team to prepare proposals, contracts, and necessary documentation.
- Evaluate geotechnical boring logs and other relevant data to provide insights on subsurface conditions.
- Utilize industry-standard software for geotechnical calculations to assess soil and rock properties.
- Compile comprehensive technical reports detailing geotechnical findings and recommendations.
- Supervise drilling operations and laboratory testing to guarantee precise data collection.
- Conduct field inspections and investigations to assess site conditions and sampling.
- Maintain communication with the Drilling Manager to coordinate field activities.
- Work alongside the Construction Testing Manager to ensure adherence to geotechnical specifications during construction.
- Apply geotechnical engineering principles to provide support and expertise to the project team.
- Adapt to both office and field environments, managing various weather conditions and physical demands.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Active Engineer-in-Training (EI) certification.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in geotechnical engineering.
- Familiarity with geotechnical drilling methods and exploration planning.
- Strong client relations skills and a commitment to delivering outstanding service.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently, demonstrating problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey technical concepts effectively.
- Client-focused with a knack for identifying future project opportunities.
- Valid motor vehicle license required for travel to project sites.
- Willingness to undergo a drug screening and physical examination as per company policy.
- Flexibility to work overtime and assist with physical tasks as needed.
