Your Responsibilities:

The Automation Engineering Manager will oversee a dedicated team of engineers and technicians, managing the design, implementation, and upkeep of cutting-edge automated systems. This position requires not only technical proficiency but also robust leadership and project management capabilities to ensure that all automation and continuous improvement projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest performance standards.

In addition to managing automation initiatives, the Engineering Manager will lead continuous improvement efforts to enhance manufacturing processes and reduce costs. A primary focus will be on the digitization of plant operations, integrating digital technologies to improve data collection, analysis, and decision-making.

Key Duties Include:

  • Leading and mentoring a highly engaged team of Project Managers, Engineers, and Technicians.
  • Implementing effective communication management strategies with senior management, emphasizing the delivery of business objectives, efficient resource allocation, and effective risk and issue management.
  • Evaluating a variety of projects to facilitate staffing, resolve resource allocation conflicts, and monitor staff utilization on activities that generate the highest business value aligned with prioritization processes.
  • Influencing talent strategy within the department and regularly coaching team members and peers to enhance team performance.
  • Developing and executing a comprehensive automation strategy aligned with franchise and site goals.
  • Staying informed about the latest automation technologies and industry trends.
  • Providing technical guidance and support for the design, programming, and troubleshooting of automation systems.
  • Identifying opportunities for process enhancements through automation and continuous improvement.
  • Supporting the continuous improvement team to reduce costs and improve product quality.
  • Developing and implementing strategies for the digitization of plant operations.
  • Integrating digital technologies to enhance data collection, analysis, and decision-making.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
  • A proven track record of implementing transformational automation programs.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of automation integration systems.
  • Proficiency in automation technologies (e.g., PLCs, SCADA, HMI, robotics).
  • Strong knowledge of automation software (e.g., LabVIEW, MATLAB, Python).
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software and mechanical design tools.
  • Familiarity with machine learning and AI applications in automation.
  • Understanding of electromechanical systems and control systems.
