Job Title: Automation Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join our team at G-CON. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automation solutions for our pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop automation systems, including PLC programming, HMI development, and sequence of operations creation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of automation systems with mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including functional design specifications, project software, and project-specific graphics.
  • Conduct engineering testing activities, including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
  • Provide training and support to other departments on automation systems and processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in controls for HVAC systems, including familiarity with current technology.
  • Required experience with PLC or microcontroller programming.
  • Required ability to read and understand plan drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Required experience with AutoCad Electrical software or other drafting software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical writing experience.
  • Experience in and/or knowledge pertaining to pharmaceutical cleanrooms.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, in areas of design, common control strategies, installation, sequence of operations.
  • Knowledge of commissioning in accordance with cGMP standards.
  • Knowledge of industrial communications protocols (BACNet, OPC/UA, ControlNet, Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP).

Language Abilities:

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions, correspondence, memos, and workplace policies.

Reasoning Abilities:

The Automation Engineer will be able to carry out detailed written and/or verbal instructions, solve practical problems, and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Temperament:

The ideal candidate will be focused and action-oriented, with the ability to perform under little structure and maintain composure in a stressful environment.
