Job Summary

G-CON Manufacturing, Inc is seeking a highly skilled Automation Engineer to join our team. As an Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automation solutions for our cleanroom PODs.

Key Responsibilities

Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Designing and developing automation software for HVAC systems, door interlocks, and security systems
  • Creating P&ID drawings and instrumentation plan sets for POD construction
  • Programming PLCs using Siemens TIA Portal and developing high-quality pharmaceutical industry software programs
  • Training Automation Engineers in AutoCAD and PLC programming and training other departments on the automation system
  • Specifying and ordering instruments per the POD design and creating termination drawings for instruments consistent with industry standards
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in controls for HVAC systems, including familiarity with current technology
  • Experience with PLC or microcontroller programming and AutoCad Electrical software or other drafting software
  • Ability to read and understand plan drawings and electrical schematics
Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Technical writing experience
  • Experience in and/or knowledge pertaining to pharmaceutical cleanrooms
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, in areas of design, common control strategies, installation, sequence of operations
  • Knowledge of commissioning in accordance with cGMP standards
  • Knowledge of industrial communications protocols (BACNet, OPC/UA, ControlNet, Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP)
