Job Description

This Homeless Veteran Housing Specialist position plays a critical role in ensuring that homeless veterans have access to safe and affordable housing. The successful candidate will work closely with the HUD-VASH team and SSVF staff to identify housing needs, locate suitable housing, and develop strategies to address barriers to housing.

$24-$25 per hour, 35 hours per week, this role offers a competitive salary, opportunities for growth, and the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Responsibilities
  • Interface with HUD-VASH, SSVF, and other government, community, and private agencies to obtain permanent housing for veterans and their families
  • Actively assist and coach participants in completing the application process
  • Provide follow-up support during the application process and act as a housing counselor and advocate for participants when necessary
  • Work closely with the Veteran's assigned multidisciplinary team
  • Recruit and engage housing providers/landlords, assess and address landlord and participant housing needs, cultivate relationships with community partners, and support veteran families
