Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Process correction of errors and initiate non-collections contracts in contract management system
  • Approve certain financial transactions and conduct deep financial transaction analysis
  • Develop internal Libraries financial processes and policies in collaboration with the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer
  • Make recommendations to the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer on financial structures and organization
  • Assist the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer by supplying data and analysis in relation to bargaining negotiations and ongoing union contract implementation
  • Assist the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer in developing annual budgets and implementing process changes
  • Advise and train staff on financial processes, including help with iExpense forms, financial eforms, financial strings, event budgets, department, program, and student employee budgets
  • Prepare payroll changes for the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer, review and correct payroll transactions, and work with staff and student supervisors to resolve timecard issues
  • Work with grant principal investigators to develop draft budgets and manage awarded budgets, provide transaction reports, and process grant transaction error corrections
  • Cross-train with other Finance & Administration staff in answering questions and directing staff to Dartmouth services and resources
  • Participate on committees and task forces as needed, attend applicable Dartmouth-wide financial meetings, and engage in continuous professional development
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or similar degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Four plus years of financial and/or business management experience
  • Significant experience with financial systems, databases, and Excel
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information
  • Exceptional organizational, planning, and time management skills
  • Strong detail and accuracy skills
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interpret, apply, and recommend changes to policies, practices, and procedures
  • High level of emotional intelligence and curiosity
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with financial or business management in a higher education setting
  • Experience working with grants and grant processes
