About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Solar Project Manager to join our team at PCL Construction. As a key member of our solar team, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and execution of solar projects from conception to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide contract administration, technical expertise, and support to medium-sized construction projects.
  • Develop and implement project safety plans, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.
  • Ensure projects are constructed according to design, budget, resources, quality, and schedule.
  • Understand client drivers and offer value engineering proposals for functionality, cost, and schedule benefits.
  • Manage project performance, providing regular status reports on safety, cost forecasts, and schedules.
  • Negotiate and issue subcontracts, major purchase orders, and progress payments, monitoring their progress and schedules.
  • Understand, communicate, and enforce contract documents.
  • Develop and coordinate overall project closeout.
  • Identify and manage risks and opportunities on construction projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • 8-10 years of progressive construction experience, with 3+ years in solar utility scale projects.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing a strong safety culture, applying health, safety, and environment principles and legislation.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction industry, including building materials, construction specifications, methods, and procedures, construction law, and building codes, and safety and quality management practices.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills, including managing project budgets and schedules.
  • Ability to identify and manage risks and opportunities on construction projects.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, project management, and scheduling software, with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
