About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Solar Project Manager to join our team at PCL Construction. As a key member of our solar construction team, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of solar energy projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Administration: Provide overall contract administration, technical expertise, and support to medium-sized construction projects.
  • Safety Management: Develop and implement project safety plans, lead by example, and ensure compliance with health and safety practices and procedures.
  • Project Delivery: Ensure projects are constructed as per design, budget, resources, quality, and schedule.
  • Value Engineering: Understand client drivers and offer value engineering proposals for functionality, cost, and schedule benefits.
  • Performance Management: Manage project performance, provide performance status reports, and negotiate subcontracts and progress payments.
  • Contract Management: Understand, communicate, and enforce contracts and contract documents.
  • Project Closeout: Develop and coordinate overall project closeout.
  • Risk Management: Identify and manage risks and opportunities on construction projects.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or diploma in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • Experience: 8-10 years of progressive construction experience, with 3+ years in solar utility scale projects.
  • Safety Culture: Demonstrated experience implementing a strong safety culture by applying health, safety, and environment principles and legislation.
  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the construction industry, including building materials, construction specifications, methods, and procedures, construction law, and building codes.
  • Planning and Organization: Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills, including the ability to manage project budgets and schedules.
  • Risk Management: Ability to identify and manage risks and opportunities on construction projects.
  • Communication: Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Technology: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, project management, and scheduling software, with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
