Job Title: Bakery Lead/KeyholderJob Summary:

The Nothing Bundt Cakes Bakery Team Lead works closely with the Bakery Assistant Manager and team members to create high-quality cakes, a warm environment, and meet production demands. This role ensures that frosting and cakes of the highest quality are consistently created for guests and contributes to superior service by meeting production demands.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Effectively utilize measuring instruments, commercial-grade mixers, and other tools to make our cakes.
  2. Adhere to the proper packaging, labeling, and storage of cakes as well as product rotation standards, and maintain refrigeration logs and cake inventory.
  3. Evaluate raw ingredients and cakes to ensure NbC standards are met and inform management of any quality control issues.
  4. Clean, sanitize, and restock workstations and ensure supplies are sufficiently prepared for the next shift. This includes tables, equipment, and tools.
  5. Comply with all health and safety guidelines and NbC policies and procedures, including strict adherence to dress code and personal hygiene.
  6. Assist bakery management in executing operational and administrative duties, which may include production plans, productivity goal setting, team scheduling, supply ordering, and labor reporting.
  7. Co-facilitate the opening and closing of the bakery, including cash-drawer balancing and bank deposits.
  8. Support bakery management in recruiting, selecting, and training team members, directing daily work responsibilities, and providing performance feedback and coaching.
  9. Maintain a consistent work attendance and punctuality record.
  10. Abide by all NBC policies and procedures.
  11. Communicate with management about equipment, including problems and maintenance, and ensure all regular maintenance is performed.
  12. Promptly greet walk-in and phone guests with genuine warmth and helpful enthusiasm to determine interests and needs, and follow NbC Sweet Steps of Service to create a superior guest experience.
  13. Maintain strong product knowledge to educate guests on NbC cake distinction, size, and flavor profile options, pricing, special promotions, and complementary retail merchandise.
  14. Process guest orders efficiently and accurately utilizing point-of-sale system and invite guests to join NbC Email Club to benefit from special promotions and remain connected.
  15. Uphold a clean and organized bakery presentation, which may include routine sweeping/mopping of the floor, and dusting/cleaning of countertops, windows, and other surfaces.
Requirements:
  1. Is able to understand written and oral directions, interpret instructional documents such as recipes, operating procedures, and health and safety rules, and apply knowledge to perform job responsibilities.
  2. Has the ability to perform repetitious, physical tasks that require the strength to lift items of moderate to heavy weight (as much as 50 pounds) and stand for extended periods of time.
  3. Is meticulous about using exact measurements, paying strict attention to timing, and working on a tight, fast-paced production schedule.
  4. Can evaluate products, processes, information, and surroundings to determine compliance with standards.
  5. Possesses the discipline and attention to detail to strictly adhere to health and safety practices and work environment standards.
  6. Is diligent, organized, and self-motivated, with the ability to operate independently with minimal supervision.
  7. Possess a strong sense of teamwork.
  8. Ability to troubleshoot issues and coach team members.
  9. Has the ability to work well under pressure.
  10. Ability to multitask while paying special attention to detail.
  11. Possess ability to forecast business needs and perform accordingly.
Education, Certifications, and Work Experience Requirements:
  1. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
  2. While no formal education or work experience is required, previous experience in an operational support role at a bakery, restaurant, or foodservice environment is a plus.
