Piping/Mechanical Estimator Role

Contractor Service & Fabrication, Inc. (CSFCO) is in search of a skilled Piping/Mechanical Estimator. In this pivotal role, you will be tasked with generating precise cost assessments for significant construction endeavors, playing a key part in the planning, development, negotiation, and execution of contracts for these projects.

The successful candidate will exhibit outstanding communication abilities and a keen eye for detail. A history of effective negotiations with various professionals, coupled with a track record of making accurate time and cost projections, is essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Calculate the comprehensive costs associated with materials, equipment, utilities, labor, and indirect expenses for industrial construction projects.
  • Examine construction documents and interpret specifications.
  • Develop estimates to facilitate project planning, organization, and scheduling.
  • Formulate estimates that align with project objectives, sequence tasks, procure materials, and negotiate favorable terms with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Ensure timely submission of relevant documents and budgets prior to bid deadlines.
  • Provide regular updates to management and keep stakeholders informed about project progress.
  • Identify potential risks, devise contingency strategies, and manage risks that could affect the cost and timeline of estimates.
  • Stay updated on the latest estimating technologies and industry practices.
  • Collaborate with various teams, conduct site assessments, and offer additional services, such as bid submissions, as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience as an estimator in the industrial construction sector is preferred.
  • Exceptional skills in time management, multitasking, and interpersonal communication.
  • Strong management and negotiation capabilities.
  • Ability to work closely with other project teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in research, proposal development, and oral presentation.
  • Thorough understanding of industry best practices and standards.
  • Advanced computer proficiency and demonstrated expertise with ProEst estimating software.
  • Willingness to travel and conduct site visits as required.
