Appointment Coordinator

This position provides high-level member support by scheduling various appointments, transferring calls, composing messages, and providing general information.
The Appointment Clerk plays a critical role in upholding Kaiser Permanente's policies and procedures, responding to incoming calls in a high-volume, structured call center environment.
The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, be able to prioritize member needs, and offer alternatives when necessary.
In this role, you will also utilize databases to provide information to members and other callers, refer members to the eligibility department as needed, and schedule appointments while meeting established standards of performance for quality and productivity.
Responsibilities:
- Determine appointment type and availability
- Schedule, reschedule, or verify appointments
- Prioritize member needs and offer alternatives
- Use tact and diplomacy in handling difficult interactions
- Compose messages for providers or medical staff
- Provide information to members and other personnel
- Identify ways to improve service quality and recommend changes
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of customer service experience in a service-related industry, preferably healthcare
- Effective telephone communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Working Conditions:
This is an on-call position, with varying days and hours. The salary range for this position is estimated to be around $45,000 - $60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
