Job Title: Senior Audit Associate - Financial Institutions

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Audit Associate to join our Financial Institutions team. As a Senior Audit Associate, you will be responsible for performing audits, reviews, and compilations for clients in the financial institution and banking industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Initiate client engagement meetings and determine timelines, objectives, and expectations of an engagement.
  • Perform audit, review, or compilation procedures for clients.
  • Plan and perform all phases of an engagement, including workpaper preparation, financial statement preparation, and report preparation.
  • Analyze and prepare trial balances, complex financial statements, and audit reports using audit software programs, Word, and Excel.
  • Reconcile accounting information to control accounts.
  • Conduct fraud interviews on an as-needed basis with CEO, accountants, and other employees.
  • Review staff work, prepare high-risk audit sections, and draft financial statements.
  • Provide financial analysis upon completion of fieldwork to improve client internal controls and accounting procedures.
  • Request and collect appropriate information to diagnose and solve client problems.
  • Coordinate various activities to meet client needs within a specified time frame.
  • Train staff on the various aspects of an audit and delegate work based on availability and experience.
  • Understand and apply work procedures and effectively tailor plans as necessary.
  • Perform fieldwork at client locations as necessary.
  • Network, build relationships, and attract new clients or business to the Firm.
  • Attend training seminars, professional development, and networking events.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (required).
  • 2-4 years of audit experience (required); experience working with financial institution and banking industries is a plus.
  • Valid Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or working towards obtaining CPA license (preferred).
  • Well-rounded knowledge of auditing standards and accounting principles.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines by setting priorities with work projects.
  • Proficient with computers, Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), and using various software packages.
