Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Software Engineer to become an integral part of our Air Traffic Management Solutions division. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of aviation technology, focusing on the development of advanced systems that enhance air traffic safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and engage with software development teams to architect, design, and implement real-time safety-critical software solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are achieved within budget and on schedule.
  • Participate in both formal and informal software integration and testing processes to ensure seamless functionality.
  • Contribute to software qualification testing to adhere to industry standards for verification and robustness.
  • Maintain and update software documentation to reflect current processes and compliance with industry standards.
  • Revise and ensure documentation related to testing and design activities is comprehensive and up-to-date.

Learning Opportunities:

  • Gain in-depth knowledge of real-time safety-critical software architecture in the aviation sector.
  • Understand the complete product lifecycle of safety-critical systems, from conception to deployment.
  • Develop essential skills that contribute to the advancement of aviation technology on a global scale.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in software engineering, particularly in Unix/Linux environments, with a strong command of C programming and the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience in developing Embedded and/or Real-Time Safety Critical software.
  • Proficiency in software testing methodologies and debugging techniques.
  • Familiarity with source code management systems and requirements management tools.
  • A degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is mandatory for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with C99, Python, SQL, and scripting languages.
  • Knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux and VxWorks Operating Systems.
  • Familiarity with WAAS processes and safety-critical software standards.
  • Cost Account Management (CAM) certification is a plus.
