Key Responsibilities

Howmet Corporation is seeking a Financial Operations Manager to enhance their aerospace fastening division. In this pivotal role, you will assist the Plant Controller in managing daily financial activities, coordinating the month-end closing cycle, and generating comprehensive financial statements. Your primary duties will encompass cost management, inventory oversight, and budgetary control.

Specific Duties Include:

  • Assisting with General Accounting tasks such as financial reporting, asset management, and expense evaluations.
  • Supporting month-end closing procedures, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Overseeing inventory management and standard cost assessments, analyzing discrepancies, and facilitating budget preparation.
  • Engaging in audits to guarantee adherence to both internal and external compliance standards.
  • Tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and proposing operational enhancements.
  • Conducting financial assessments for capital projects and initiatives aimed at continuous improvement.
  • Contributing to special projects for both plant and corporate leadership.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting or Finance.

  • 3-5 years of experience in a cost accounting environment, with a solid understanding of US GAAP.
  • Authorization to work in the United States and capability to manage export-controlled materials.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in cost accounting systems, particularly within manufacturing and aerospace sectors.
  • Familiarity with QAD, MFG Pro, Oracle ERP systems, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Accounting certification and advanced knowledge of GAAP principles.

Desirable Skills:

1. Experience in a manufacturing setting.

2. Strong understanding of GAAP, along with analytical and strategic planning skills.

3. Excellent communication, self-motivation, and teamwork capabilities.

4. Proficiency in computer systems and software, especially MS Office.

5. Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
