Position: Senior Billing Coordinator

Location: New Orleans, LA

Salary: Competitive salary based on experience

Work Environment: 100% onsite

Education Requirement: Not mandatory

Referral Incentive: $500 for successful referrals

Role Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Billing Coordinator with a strong interest in financial management within a legal context. This role presents opportunities for advancement into various financial management areas within the firm. The ideal candidate should be a collaborative team player, capable of managing multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Billing Manager in the preparation and processing of client invoices.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly billing cycles.
  • Provide attorneys with budgetary information for ongoing cases.
  • Facilitate the provision of billing details for newly initiated legal matters.
  • Manage the distribution of electronic and traditional invoices to clients as required.
  • Collaborate with attorneys to ensure accurate time entry into the billing system.
  • Work alongside the Accounting Specialist to ensure proper posting of collections and accounts payable.
  • Support the accounting team with various tasks and projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • A college degree with a focus on accounting or finance is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with electronic billing platforms, including managing new matters and submitting invoices in LEDES format.
  • Prior experience in law firm billing, with knowledge of client billing protocols and rates.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Familiarity with Coyote Analytics or similar billing software is advantageous.
