Your Role...

As a Mechanical Systems Technician, your primary duty is to troubleshoot MEP systems for our clientele. You will be relied upon to swiftly and effectively identify issues, communicate the necessary actions to clients, and propose the most efficient and cost-effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities...

Your daily tasks may include:

  • Identifying and resolving issues within building systems or escalating them as needed.
  • Utilizing HVAC diagnostic tools to pinpoint system malfunctions.
  • Interpreting blueprints and specifications to guide work processes.
  • Applying knowledge of building layouts to inspect facilities and locate essential service points.
  • Maintaining records of assignments and generating detailed reports to ensure accurate billing.
  • Collaborating with clients to address their concerns in order of priority.
  • Promoting ongoing maintenance contracts to non-contract clients when suitable.
  • Employing specialized techniques and tools to expedite the diagnostic process.
  • Overseeing apprentices in repair tasks and mentoring them on safe and effective work practices.
  • Conducting service, repairs, adjustments, and tests on mechanical devices and equipment.
  • Inspecting equipment and structures to identify errors, safety hazards, or other issues, and resolving or escalating them as necessary.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications...

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in MEP service within industrial, commercial, or HVAC preventive maintenance.
  • Universal EPA Certification is required.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft and Google applications.
  • Ability to communicate complex HVAC concepts clearly to clients.
  • Strong time management capabilities.
  • Fluency in English, with proficient reading, writing, and communication skills.
  • Valid Driver's License is necessary.
  • Willingness to travel locally up to 75% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of OSHA 30-Hour Training.
  • Current First Aid/CPR Certification.

Work Environment:

  • This role primarily involves fieldwork, responding to service requests for MEP systems. Expect exposure to varying weather conditions and typical construction site hazards.

  • Standing and walking: 4-6 hours
  • Sitting: 1-2 hours
  • Reaching above shoulder height: 2-4 hours
  • Bending at the waist: 2-4 hours
  • Working with arms extended: 1-2 hours
  • Kneeling, crawling, squatting: 1-2 hours
  • Pushing and pulling: 1-2 hours
  • Twisting and turning: 2-4 hours
  • Driving: 2-4 hours
  • Climbing ladders and stairs: 1-2 hours
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds without assistance.
